Junior Volunteer Development Program
A first step into the CFA family.
Red Hill CFA runs a junior program for young people aged 11 to 15 as part of CFA’s Junior Volunteer Development Program, which operates in more than 160 brigades across Victoria.
Juniors learn how the brigade works, build skills, friendships and community spirit, and get involved in the life of the station and the community. Junior members do not respond to emergencies. Activities are usually held at the Red Hill station and may include excursions, camps and CFA championship events.
- Open to young people aged 11 to 15
- No emergency response, ever
- Every junior leader holds a valid Working with Children Check
- At least two registered junior leaders at every activity
- A natural pathway to full membership at 16
