Introducing the Hill And Ridge Emergency Network

A Community Resource Mapping workshop was held in October which brought together diverse stakeholders from the community

Residents, business owners, educators, local agencies, and representatives from community organisations filled the room, sharing a common purpose: enhancing the community’s ability to weather unforeseen challenges.

The workshop revealed an impressive range of skills and expertise among residents and community members showcased their invaluable local knowledge, from understanding local risks to pinpointing vulnerable areas and available resources.

Also evident was the strength of local social networks and community bonds, which are critical for coordinating efforts during emergencies. As a result of this workshop, subsequent meetings have been held to establish the Hill and Ridge Emergency Network.

The group will continue to meet, contribute to a local planning process, and take proactive steps to enhance community resilience.

Planning is underway to launch the Network and Community Plan, a date is set for 11th of February 2024, follow up information about the event will be advertised on the Red Hill and Main Ridge Brigade social media, on flyers around town and distributed via local networks.
